HEATWAVE WARNING FOR INLAND GASCOYNE & MURCHISON THIS WEEKEND including Meekatharra and Upper Gascoyne Communities
Friday January 19 to Sunday January 21
Extreme heatwaves can be dangerous for everyone. Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell. Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home or airconditioned community facilities. Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
WEATHER SITUATION
Maximum temperatures mainly in the mid forties, reaching the high forties over parts of the Pilbara and adjacent northern Gascoyne are expected by the weekend. Overnight minimum temperatures ranging from the high twenties to low thirties are also predicted. Extreme heatwave conditions building over the western Pilbara and adjacent northern Gascoyne will extend into parts of the Goldfields and South Interior districts over coming days before gradually easing next week.
