Gascoyne Junction Bush Ball Fundraiser

 October 18th - Event of the Year

This will be the social event that everyone is talking about as it will be a night of good food, great music, excellent company and simply a grand time.

But let's talk about the most important reason we should be talking about the Bush Ball. The Why!!

In 2023, after a long battle with cancer, Shire President Don Hammarquist passed away. He has left a huge hole in our community, and sadly he is not the only Upper Gascoyne resident who we have lost to cancer, or has had fought the battle and won. For such a small community we really have been hit hard by the C Word.

A frequent conversation with Upper Gascoyne residents when receiving treatment, is the struggle to afford the cost of travelling to Perth and the cost of accommodation for regional patients. The goal of this event is Adopt a Room through the Cancer Council at Crawford & Milroy Lodge - a place that took incredible care of Don and his family, and also other residents of the Upper Gascoyne. Our fundraising target is $10,000 which will enable the Upper Gascoyne Community to adopt a twin or double room at the Lodge through the Cancer Council WA, to assist with reducing accommodation costs for those in need.

A good reason, to dress up, pull on your boots and have a great night out.
