NEW PUBLIC HEALTH AND SOCIAL MEASURES FOR ALL WA THU 3 MAR

UPDATED PUBLIC HEALTH AND SOCIAL MEASURES ALL OF WA AS OF THURSDAY MARCH 3
Effective 12:01am Thursday, 3 March, upgraded public health and social measures will apply state-wide.
The measures are focused on decreasing the number of people that mix in high risk venues to minimise the surge in cases and hospitalisations.
Level 2 measures are expected to be in place for about four weeks, with a review to be undertaken at the end of the month.
The Level 2 measures include:
🟠 Mask-wearing requirements expanded to children in Years 3-6 in all public indoor settings, usual exemptions apply
🟠 2sqm rule to hospitality (seated service only for food and beverage), fitness venues, higher education, entertainment venues, places of worship, galleries and museums, with a 150 person cap (patrons only)
🟠 2sqm rule for hairdressers, tattoo parlours and beauty services
🟠2sqm rule applies to public venues, such as swimming pools and recreational centres
🟠 500 capacity limit and mask requirement apply to outdoor events and venues (in addition to the 2sqm rule)
🟠 Optus Stadium, HBF Park, RAC Arena and other front facing seated entertainment venues will operate at 50% capacity – mask wearing required at major stadiums
🟠 4sqm rule and seated service only on the Crown casino gaming floor
🟠 Seated service only at nightclubs in addition to 2sqm rule and a 150 capacity
🟠 Private indoor and outdoor home gatherings limited to a total of 10 people
🟠 Private outdoor gatherings in a public space limited to 50 people
🟠 Weddings and funerals permitted with the 2sqm rule and 150 capacity – no more than 10 people inside if held at a private residence
🟠 Indoor community sports as per venue requirement, with no spectators, except for parents or guardian
🟠 Outdoor community sports permitted with no spectators, except for parents or guardians
🟠 2 visitors per resident per day to aged care and disability care facilities
🟠 No visitors to hospitals, except for spouses, parents or carers, birth partners or for compassionate reasons
Masks are required:
🔸 in all public indoor settings, including in the workplace
🔸 in all vehicles unless the person is travelling alone or with members of the same household
🔸 in hospitals, disability and residential aged care facilities.
Up to date proof of COVID-19 vaccinations or medical exemption with ID remains a requirement at certain venues and events state-wide.
